May. 10th, 2006 01:53 pmI posted fic today, for the first time in ages. And okay, it was only 150 words long, but at any rate, it's over on
angelacaduca, if any of you have a passing acquaintance with/interest in Prince of Tennis. Yes, my mentor/protege thing strikes again. Sigh.
Vid: Hold On
Feb. 14th, 2006 12:27 amI have made my first fannish thing in a long time, and it is a vid. A Star Wars vid.

Because
longsunday tagged me:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
Dashboard Confessional - Hold On
Staind - Right Here
Aqualung - Breaking My Heart
Dishwalla - Angels or Devils
Vienna Teng - The Tower
The Cardigans - Communication
Belle and Sebastian - Waking Up To Us
I tag, well anyone who wishes to be tagged, actually.
(Why yes, these all appear on one particular playlist, why do you ask? *headdesk*)

Dec. 24th, 2005 02:47 pmMerry greetings of the season ^_^
Someone asked me for this, but right now I don't remember who, so here's one of my favourite songs of the moment for everyone generally:
Vienna Teng - The Atheist Christmas Carol

Dec. 2nd, 2005 01:43 pmLook, a post! And, um, it's a meme, because I replied to Vic's.
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want—good or bad—BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

Feb. 2nd, 2005 12:18 amI just woke up with my skin positively *crawling* with the need to write. I got down (another!) new plot bunny - fic. new fandom. woe. - and now I'm writing more of the Avalon story. I am positively *wired* with the need to put down words.
I didn't get any sleep last night because I was in hospital hooked up to nebulisers with an asthma/panic attack. I have to be at the hospital (working) from 9am to 9pm tomorrow. I do not see any sleep in my future. Pity me?

We have a problem
Jul. 29th, 2004 10:18 amMy laptop has now stopped working completely, in the sense of 'it will no longer even turn on'. All my music, and more importantly all the writing I was working on. Not to mention all of my poetry, some of which I do have scribbled in original form, but all the changes are made on the screen. sigh. I hope I may be able to take it to a computer shop when I get home and rescue my work at least, but I don't know how much that will cost...
crystallised,
longsunday,
auxphono: I don't suppose you still have the Magi-story bits and the flood story bits I sent you lying around? and indeed any other snippets and things I may have prodded you with? My poetry, at all?

hp_remix story, Growing Pains, is up now.
And now, I'm going to go help make dinner. Home in a few days.

Jul. 10th, 2004 06:29 pmI am in Canada, and I live! Unfortunately, my laptop's keyboard does not... which is a whole world of not good. Luckily, my
hp_remix fic was finished a while back and since there's now no way I can make last minute changes, I sent it in. Unfortunately, there's no hope of either finishing my
hp_videostore story, or my
hp_classic story, since I somehow cannot see writing stories without using the middle row of the keyboard at all.
On the other hand, it's not like I have a whole load of time to spend writing anyway, since I'm in the lab from 9 to 6 on weekdays, and have a dozen things to do in the weekends. Lab work is fun, and I have been reliably informed that everything I've seen so far is the boring part. Unfortunately, this does not help with my having to make decisions on which BSc I want to do, since if I hated it I could at least cross one possibility off my list. And now, I should probably stop stealing the compy of the people I'm staying with (nice people, very quiet kids, though I use the term 'kids' loosely).

Jul. 3rd, 2004 10:54 pmI'm leaving for Canada at 5 tomorrow morning. I've spent much of the last two days alternately packing, flailing in terror, and running to the shops to buy yet another thing I realised I'd forgotten I needed. However, I think I am now organised and ready to spend four weeks doing worky researchy stuff. No, really. All will go well. It will.
That meme everyone's doing
Jul. 1st, 2004 11:06 pm"You are an SECL--Sober Emotional Constructive Leader. This makes you a politician. You cut deals, you change minds, you make things happen. You would prefer to be liked than respected, but generally people react to you with both. You are very sensitive to criticism, since your entire business is making people happy.
At times your commitment to the happiness of other people can cut into the happiness of you and your loved ones. This is very demanding on those close to you, who may feel neglected. Slowly, you will learn to set your own agenda--including time to yourself.
You are gregarious, friendly, charming and charismatic. You like animals, sports, and beautiful cars. You wear understated gold jewelry and have secret bad habits, like chewing your fingers and fidgeting.
You are very difficult to dislike."
Well, that's interesting. Not at all what I'd have thought, although there are bits that are quite accurate. I guess I must be in a cheerful mood today.

Fanfic this time, but not HP, alas. Classical mythology fic, specifically, Icarus/Helios. Inspired by this quote. Betad by
villainny.

Ask Anything Meme
Jun. 18th, 2004 10:53 pmGacked from absolutely everyone on my friendslist, since I've been asking questions:
Ask me anything, and I'll answer it.
Actually I've been asking (almost) everyone the same question, because it's something I'd really like to know.
In other news, I spent most of today at Kew Gardens (the Royal Botanical Gardens). It was a good day to go, actually, since it wasn't too hot, and it was fun. Of course, after 7 hours of almost constant walking, my feet are not happy with me. I have discovered that I'm not a tree hugger - I'm a tree stroker. Apparently.

Jun. 13th, 2004 09:53 pmI thought I was supposed to be on holiday...
A summary of the past ten days or so:
I sat in the park a lot, with a variety of people.
I did my viva. It went all right. I don't think I won the prize, but that's all right, since I at least did not make a fool of myself as I expected.
I found out officially that I did pass my exams, and that I got an A for the Project of Doom.
I saw Thea Gilmore live, with
phoenixdru (who was late. again...) She was wonderful - her voice is even better live, and she was much prettier than I'd expected. Funnier too.
I have had 'Loftmusic' on repeat.
I have done very little writing, although I did make some beta-edits to the
hp_remix story, which still needs a title.
I have been intimidated by the other
restituere players, and so got very little done. I'm not sure I'm cut out for RPing, in truth. But that's a whole 'nother ponder.
I have booked my tickets for Canada.
I have told my mother that I want neither her recriminations nor her praise, because they both hurt too much.
I have spent far too much money.
I have not slept nearly as much as I need to.
