Jul. 26th, 2003 11:25 pmToday's expedition was to the natural history museum, with sis and friends again. I went last year, but I do like the place so it wasn't exactly a hardship. Having been instructed by
crystallised to keep an eye out for the fanged deer, I managed to find three species, which worried me slightly... only one of the species owned up to even eating carrion. Hm. Vampire deer, anyone? Also I adore the earth galleries, mostly because there are lots of things to touch, and so I just wander around trailing my fingers over every unprotected rock in the place. I have a thing for textures, so it makes me happy. Also there was a very cool 'toy' to demonstrate something to do with winds and currents and such. Anyhow, it made pretty swirly patterns when you spun it at high speeds and thus kept me entertained for far too long *g* Then there were the sparkly gemstones, which I also stare at for too long every time. I am easily entertained...
We left at about four and decided it was far too early to go home, so went to Hyde Park. Or rather, we got to the station and saw the signs talking about 'Pride in the Park', at which my sister's friends were worried and decided to go to Trafalgar Square instead. Bah. It was raining (quite heavily!) but despite that we stood around in Leicester Square in the rain for a bit debating what to do, then decided on Trafalgar Square anyway. Got fairly drenched - despite the five minute walk, because of our utter indecisiveness, and ended up sitting in Costa drinking hot chocolate and steaming gently before going home. Fun ^_^
Still haven't decided what to work on next. May well plod away at Wild Magic for a bit, but there's a few new ideas I want to run by various people (most of whom don't seem to be online. argh).
